Drawing inspiration from the famous photographer Edward Weston and his still life series involving bell peppers and nautilus, I decided to emulate his work and create a series of images that appear vastly different in physical form than from what they actually are. Again, following my passion for subject matter that emerges out of the American West, I decided to photograph antlers that have been shed by animals such as deer, elk, and moose. My vision was to photography these subjects and portray them completely different from their actual physical form, much like how the pepper and nautilus series of Weston evoke erotic and human-like forms.
